1971 - 1972 Chevelle Dash Voltmeter for Gauge Style Dash, White Lettering
1971 - 1972 Chevelle dash voltmeter conversion for the gauge style dash gauges. This voltmeter will take the place of tour original ammeter in the gauge dash cluster. 1971-72 voltmeter features white lettering.
This voltmeter can be used to replace the existing ammeter in the gauges dash of your 1970-72 Chevelle, Monte Carlo, or El Camino. The voltmeter is designed to fit into the dash pod replacing the ammeter. Wiring is separate from the circuit board.
The original ammeter showed the flow of current in and out of the battery, while this new voltmeter will show the force of the current (voltage) that exists in the system.
Ammeters have fallen out of favor due, in part, to the presence of hot wires under the dash even when the vehicle is turned off. Also ammeters, when wired by GM as a shunt meter, cannot function as intended when One-Wire Alternators are used or the factory wiring is replaced.
This is a very cool update and it keeps your dash looking clean and original. Gauge housing not included.
