1969 - 1972 Chevelle Automatic Transmission Back-Drive Swivel & Rod Lockout Linkage Set

This is the linkage that goes from the steering column arm on the bottom of the steering column in the engine compartment. The side rod attaches to the steering column lower arm that attaches to the shaft assembly that pivots on your sub frame. The back drive linkage prevents you from starting a car when the transmission is in gear. This mechanical linkage set-up also engages the reverse backup lights.

The parts included with this kit are: linkage rod, cross shaft, swivel adjustment with nut, spring, frame bracket, and white plastic insulator frame bushing. The only way the steering column locks the transmission and allows the reverse lights to function. It is used for cars with floor shift automatic or column shift automatic.

NOTE: Spring (puts pressure on swivel to frame) and insulator (mounts on frame bracket, included) and work in conjunction with the swivel and rod assembly.

* PLEASE NOTE ~ WILL NOT WORK WITH CARS THAT HAVE HEADERS
